Flour Girl’s Hot Chocolate Mousse

96635_en-us_largeThis is served at a friend’s local bakery and café. She most kindly shared the recipe! It is certainly a lot more work than adding hot chocolate powder to some hot water, but is the most decadent hot drink I have ever had!

Flour Girl's Hot Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients
  • ½ c cream
  • 2 c chocolate chips
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 3 ½ c whipping cream
  • ½ c powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Heat ½ c cream to just below boiling. Add 2 cups chocolate chips and stir to melt. Stir in 1 t vanilla and let cool.
  2. Whip 3 ½ cups whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Sweeten with ½ c powdered sugar.
  3. Fold the chocolate mixture into the whipped cream. Add a big spoonful to a cup of hot milk to serve.
