Maple Candied Nuts

February 27, 2015 by candicebeckwith Leave a Comment

maple-spiced-candied-nuts-2 I love these as a snack. The best part is there is no refined sugar. Also, make sure to include the dash of chili powder! It is surprisingly delicious!

Serves: 1 cup
Ingredients
  • 1 C pecans (or other nuts)
  • 1 T coconut oil
  • 2T maple syrup
  • ½ t cinnamon
  • 1 t vanilla
  • Optional: dash chili powder
Instructions
  1. Put all ingredients in skillet and cook over medium heat until the syrup has caramelized and is sticking to the nuts – 5 to 10 minutes. Stir frequently so they don’t burn.
  2. Cool on a plate and eat or add to salad.
