Baked Tortellini (or Penne)

dscn1909Tortellini baked in white sauce and topped with fresh bread crumbs and Romano and Gorgonzola cheeses. This is NOT a guilt free recipe.

Baked Tortellini (or Penne)

Serves: 6
Ingredients
  • 6 T unsalted butter
  • 6 T Flour
  • 4 c milk
  • 1 ½ c shredded Fontina, Parmesan or Romano Cheese
  • ½ lb Gorgonzola (can substitute with
  • Blue Cheese)
  • 1 c freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 lb penne pasta
  • ¼ c fresh bread crumbs
Instructions
  1. Melt butter in sauce pan over med to low heat. Combine flour and butter then slowly add milk to make sauce. To the sauce add cheese until cheese is melted but don’t let boil. Season sauce with salt and pepper.
  2. Boil pasta until just tender.
  3. In a baking dish mix pasta and sauce then top with bread crumbs. Bake at 375 until top is crispy.
