Corn Bread

January 26, 2015 by candicebeckwith Leave a Comment

Whole+Grain+Cornbread You would never believe that this recipe has no processed sugar! And is whole grain! It is so moist and delicious. Recipe makes 1 8×8 pan so I would recommend always doubling it…it is THAT good!

Total time
40 mins

Ingredients
  • 1 c cornmeal
  • 1 c whole wheat pastry flour (can substitute for regular whole wheat flour)
  • 1 T baking powder
  • ½ t fine salt
  • 1 c non dairy milk (or milk)
  • ¼ c apple sauce
  • ¼ c pure maple syrup
  • 2 T raw sugar (optional)
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients and cook at 400 degrees in a greased 8x8 pan or 9’ pie pan.
  2. I am guessing at cooking time here since I never time my baking. Just bake until knife comes out clean! (Maybe 30 minutes?)
