My mother and I have the same recipe but she thinks I sneak extra things into this recipe because mine always turns out better than hers. Truthfully, I do.
Ingredients
  • 3 avocados - peeled, pitted, and mashed
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 t salt
  • ½ c diced red onion
  • 3 T chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 roma (plum) tomatoes, diced
  • 1 t minced garlic
  • 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper (optional)
  • additions: Tony’s Creole Seasoning, cumin, coriander and black pepper
Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, mash together the avocados, lime juice, and salt.
  2. Mix in onion, cilantro, tomatoes, and garlic. Stir in cayenne pepper.
  3. Refrigerate 1 hour for best flavor, or serve immediately.
